Trophy Games

Tasks: Marketing, app store optimization (ASO), brand design, asset design, video editing

As a part of the Marketing team in Trophy Games my primary responsibility is to optimize the App Stores with the best performing graphics and metadata for portfolio of mobile games. This includes plenty of experimentation and understanding the results that comes from it. In addition, I coordinate and execute graphics and copy for promotional content on the stores.

Overall, I wear a designer-hat which has resulted in all sorts of creative projects.

Trophy Games specializes in management games within niche topics such as: Airplanes, Trains, Ships, Trucks and Energy. However, the portfolio is even wider, offering games within sports management and casual animal games.

App Store Optimization

Tool: Photoshop, Midjourney

When browsing on either Google Play Store or the App Store, the first thing that will have you form an impression about the app is the icon. It needs to be eye-catching and fitting for the game. Next up is the screenshots which will give you an even deeper understanding of the app. Screenshots aims to highlight important features and make the game look appealing as a whole. Lastly, there’s the metadata which prioritizes using important keywords so that the app can be found among a vast amount of similar apps in the genre.

Promotional Content

Tool: Photoshop, Midjourney

Promotional content is used to boost awareness of in-app events, such as new features, content or time-limited challenges. It’s a great way to organically increase impressions and acquisitions on the app stores. A promo event (or in-app event for iOS) consists of a graphic in different formats as well as a sharply written copy that aims to precisely describe the event while convincing existing and new players to engage.

Campaign Videos

Tool: Unity, Aseprite, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects

Below videos were made for seasonal campaigns for the game Tiny Rails - a cozy train tycoon with beautiful pixel art. The clips were recorded directly in Unity and edited together using Premiere and After Effects. Some additional pixel art was created to underline the seasonality - such as the beach scene and the assets used around the logo.

Logo design

Tool: Illustrator

When Trophy Games acquired a range of Animal games that had an outdated look and feel, it was time to rethink the brands. This resulted in new logos for around 8 of the games. Below is the result of a more fun and modern take that would visually fit into the same franchise (Pet World and Horse World) while still maintaining a level of individuality.

Trophy Merch

Tool: Aseprite

In connection with a company trip to Gamescom 2024, we decided to make some merch that was a bit out of the ordinary. The result was a fun task where I portrayed all 18 participating employees in a pixel art style which were printed on a sweatshirt. I’m proud to say, that the portraits actually resemble the people really well!
